Interview Preparation for Gaming Industry Roles
Walk into your next gaming industry interview prepared, confident, and ready to negotiate
A focused 60-minute 1:1 session with an ex-Riot Games hiring manager who has sat on the other side of the table for hundreds of gaming industry interviews. We custom-build your prep around your target role, company, and interviewer.

You are good at the work. You are terrible at talking about the work
Gaming industry interviews punish that gap harder than any other industry. Hiring managers are looking for specific signals: how you think under pressure, how you handle ambiguity, how you talk about wins without bragging and losses without flinching. Most candidates wing it and lose to candidates who prepared.
The candidates who get offers are not always the most talented. They are the most prepared. They walked in knowing exactly what the interviewer was looking for, exactly how to frame their stories, and exactly what to ask at the end. That preparation is learnable. It just takes the right coach.
What is true about you after this session
- You walk into your interview knowing exactly how to answer the 3 to 5 questions that matter most for your specific role.
- You have rewritten your weakest answer into a story that lands.
- You know what your interviewer is actually evaluating, not just what they are asking.
- You have 2 or 3 questions ready that signal seniority and curiosity.
- You know how to handle the “tell me about yourself” opener in a way that sets the tone for the entire conversation.
The Interview Prep session is for you if:
- You have a specific gaming industry interview coming up in the next 1 to 4 weeks.
- You have made it to final rounds before but kept losing to other candidates.
- You are switching functions, levels, or companies and need help reframing your story.
- You are mid-to-senior level (5+ years experience) in gaming, esports, or adjacent industries.
This is not the right fit if:
- You want me to write you scripted answers to memorize. We do not do that. We build your preparation, not your script.
- You are interviewing for a coding or technical craft role. I coach behavioral, leadership, and strategic interviews.
- You have not yet gotten an interview. If you need help getting interviews in the first place, the Gaming Resume Intensive or Career Sprint program is the better starting point.
The Insider Interview Method
Every session uses the same proven framework I built from 800+ candidate interviews on the hiring side. Three pillars:
Decode the role
What is this hiring manager actually evaluating? What does success in the first 90 days look like? What are the hidden disqualifiers? We reverse-engineer the rubric so you stop guessing.
Sharpen the stories
You already have the experience. We rebuild your top 3 to 5 stories using a structure that hiring managers retain and reference in debriefs. Specific. Concrete. Memorable.
Own the room
From the opening 30 seconds to the closing questions, we rehearse the moments that decide the interview. Live mock with real-time feedback. By the end, you sound like the version of yourself the hiring manager wants to hire.

Who is coaching you

I am Chris Tran. I spent 20+ years in gaming and esports, including as Head of SEA Esports at Riot Games and as a hiring manager who reviewed thousands of resumes and sat on hundreds of interviews.
I have seen exactly what makes hiring managers say yes, and exactly what makes them say no. Most of the time, the “no” has nothing to do with whether the candidate could do the job. It has to do with whether they made it easy to believe they could.

What clients say
Each time we change something about my profile or my resume, there is an opportunity the next day. I still don’t know if you are a wizard or an excellent coach.
Saba
Been getting positive messages. People saying they’ll forward my portfolio. Even just talking to people who are currently looking for work, it feels nice to be able to share some positive energy with them.
Mark
Ended up having two interviews yesterday. It was intense, I wasn’t prepared for the second, but they clearly were excited.
Jack
Walk out more prepared, or we go again
If you complete the full session and do not feel measurably more prepared than when you walked in, I will book you a free 30-minute follow-up. No forms, no friction. Just reply to your confirmation email and we will set it up.
Why $500 is the easy math
Mid-to-senior gaming industry roles pay $85,000 to $180,000+ in base salary. A 5% better negotiation outcome on one offer is $4,250 to $9,000. One missed opportunity at a studio you wanted is months of additional searching. Your investment to prepare properly: $500. The math is not subtle.
Questions You’re Probably Asking
What if I need more than one session?
Many clients book 2 or 3 sessions leading up to a high-stakes interview. You can rebook directly after your first session.
What if my interview is in 3 days?
Book the earliest available Calendly slot. If nothing works, email chris@christran.gg and we will find a time.
Do you cover technical or coding interviews?
No. I coach behavioral, leadership, and strategic interviews. For technical craft interviews, I will refer you to specialists.
What if I need to reschedule?
You can reschedule once through Calendly up to 24 hours before your session.
Is this right for senior or executive roles?
Yes. Most of my interview prep clients are mid-to-senior level in gaming and esports.
What does “feel measurably more prepared” mean for the guarantee?
Your call. If you finish the session and tell me you do not feel more prepared, I book you a free follow-up. I trust your judgment on this.
Can I get a refund?
No. The session is the deliverable. The guarantee gives you a free follow-up if the first session falls short, which is more useful than a refund.
Your interview is coming. Be the prepared candidate
You already do the work. You’re already good. The only thing between you and the career you want is visibility, and visibility is a skill, not a personality trait.
